There is a broad portfolio of placements available for virtual Business Development internships. All interns are required to present a copy of their resume in advance, as internship placements are assigned in consideration of your current skills and experience level. Placements are possible in SMEs, Start Ups, Tech Companies and NonProfit organizations. If there is a particular industry or sector that you’re interested in, please let us know, as this can be taken into consideration when your specific internship match is being made.
As a remote intern, you’ll be in regular contact with your supervisor through email and online meetings, where you’ll receive guidance and feedback. You’ll be guided by your supervisor, to set tasks and goals. The Business Development goals of your internship host company may vary. However, key priorities typically pertain to achieving increased sales through digital marketing and general promotional activities. Depending on the priorities of your internship, you may anticipate activities such as exploring local and international business opportunities through market research, contributing to the development and implementation of diverse growth strategies, and assisting in delivering improved customer service.
In all cases, interns should expect that the initial phase of their remote internship will focus on gaining some introductory knowledge. You may start by gaining an understanding or overview of what you can build upon, develop, learn, and contribute. Ensure that you ask questions and provide feedback during the introductory period, so that your supervisor understands how you’re progressing. This will help them to better understand important details, such as how quickly you learn, what you find challenging, what you find interesting, etc.

What recent Business Development interns said about their experience
This opportunity allowed me to refine my skills in communication, time management, organization, and self-discipline. As an incoming freshman into college I now have a better idea of how I want to make the most out of my undergraduate studies and future internships to fulfill my future goals. I would advise others to always keep an open mind and never fear to be challenged. The reward is not only knowledge and experience but also a priceless sense of accomplishment that has turned out to be inspirational. See challenges as your ticket to growth and success!
I feel more empowered as I can now say that I have real experience to go off from in my field. I was given lots of freedom and independence on how I wanted to approach my projects, which allowed me to delve into my creativity, critical thinking skills, while also time managing. Not only that, but I gained a wide network of peers and mentors if I ever need to communicate with. Some of my learning points included the opportunity to apply the theoretical concepts learned in academic settings to real-world business scenarios, and to acquire industry-specific skills and knowledge that are relevant to my business major.
