Interns looking to assist with written or video media, or on marketing and advertising campaigns, are able to learn a lot on this virtual internship in Journalism & Media out of Morocco. Interns can be placed in a range of departments in news outlets such as Morocco World News, contributing to news stories or helping with advertising campaigns for local organizations.
Remote marketing interns can help with contributing to social media accounts and groups on a range of platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. You can develop digital media plans and online marketing strategies, help with strategic planning and identify the latest digital trends or develop and implement social media campaigns. Interns with experience in graphic design can also get involved in creative activities.
Virtual media interns help to create original written or video content for news publications, as well as edit content supplied by correspondents and other contributors from around the world. Interns are able to contribute articles on a range of topics, including in local and international news, sport, politics and business. You can also assist with video or picture editing.
In all cases, interns should expect that the initial phase of their remote internship will focus on gaining some introductory knowledge. You may start by gaining an understanding or overview of what you can build upon, develop, learn, and contribute. Ensure that you ask questions and provide feedback during the introductory period, so that your supervisor understands how you’re progressing. This will help them to better understand important details, such as how quickly you learn, what you find challenging, what you find interesting, etc.
Understand and expect that individual internship experiences vary. Therefore, if you’re at a more introductory level, you should reasonably expect a more introductory internship. Likewise, if you’re interning for a shorter duration, you will have a different experience from someone who is interning for a longer duration. Placement preferences are considered but always subject to availability.

What recent Journalism & Media interns said about their experience
Interning through HQ Abroad was a great experience overall. I was placed at an internship that focused on my skills and I gained great knowledge. For the remote internship, I was in charge of finding stories and angles, research, writing, formatting, and pictures. My editors involved me in the editing process so I saw my mistakes and was given the chance to improve. My supervisor at HQ was responsive and emailed me weekly to remind me of my reflections. It was a little bit expensive for me, but if you want a variety of opportunities, then definitely check them out. I feel more empowered as a result of the remote Journalism & Media internship, because I got to pick stories that I had no previous experience in, such as feature stories, and gained skills and knowledge.
I signed up for this remote internship during my second semester of my Freshman year of university. I’m not sure what career I want to pursue, so I chose this internship to explore my options through the lens of multicultural-based writing; I believe it provided a good integration of the skills needed to work in an interdisciplinary field. I was put in situations where I had to write about complicated topics within a short deadline. I was pushed beyond my limits in an international journalism field, and this is exactly what environment I wanted to be immersed in as an intern exploring my interests.
