Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking interns out of Argentina play an important role in ensuring the safety of websites and IT networks across a range of companies and public organizations. Interns conduct authorized penetration tests to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
This is a remote internship you can conduct from home.
This is an ideal opportunity for interns looking to gain experience in the field of cybersecurity and understand how to protect networks from cyber attacks. Interns gain relevant, up-to-date knowledge of hacking techniques and learn about the ethics of conducting authorized attacks with potentially sensitive information.
Ethical hacking is an increasingly in-demand skill among large public and private entities looking to protect themselves from cyber attackers. In this internship, you’ll play the role of a hacker attempting to break into the networks and systems of your placement company, and recommend steps to ensure these vulnerabilities are protected.
Interns conduct a range of penetration tests, learning how hackers conduct cyber attacks and the ways in which they compromise systems. This information is highly valuable, and enables companies to protect their interests and those of their customers. You’ll also write detailed reports based on your testing, explaining where vulnerabilities exist and recommending ways they can be addressed. Depending on your level of technical expertise, there may also be opportunities to implement your recommended fixes.
Interns initially conduct experiments in a controlled laboratory environment, with daily virtual progress meetings with your supervisor. Depending on your skills and ability, you’ll then be immersed into real environments, conducting tests on live websites, networks and systems.
In all cases, interns should expect that the initial phase of their remote internship will focus on gaining some introductory knowledge. You may start by gaining an understanding or overview of what you can build upon, develop, learn, and contribute. Ensure that you ask questions and provide feedback during the introductory period, so that your supervisor understands how you’re progressing. This will help them to better understand important details, such as how quickly you learn, what you find challenging, what you find interesting, etc.
Understand and expect that individual internship experiences vary. Therefore, if you’re at a more introductory level, you should reasonably expect a more introductory internship. Likewise, if you’re interning for a shorter duration, you will have a different experience from someone who is interning for a longer duration. Placement preferences are considered but always subject to availability.

What recent Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking interns said about their experience
I have had a very enriching experience in this internship and learned many things in a practical manner. What I enjoyed most during my penetration testing internship was hands-on practice in the identification and analysis of real-world security vulnerabilities. That feeling was great when I applied theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, and every challenge helped me improve my technical understanding, also an amazing team and supervising . This internship contributed hugely to both my personal and professional development by enhancing my problem-solving skills and widening my expertise in cybersecurity. It gave me a clearer direction in my career and more confidence to pursue any future opportunities that might come up.
I honestly enjoyed this experience so much that if I could change anything, I would have cleared my schedule so I could have had my entire focus on my internship. I had an absolute blast tinkering with various tools and received a ton of amazing feedback on my work. I gained a ton of valuable insight as to how a penetration tester works, and more perspective on Cybersecurity as a whole. I really mean this when I say it: I haven't had the opportunity to work more offensively (talking about school) so this exposure really makes me feel like I've learned a lot.
There are many take-away's I've had from this internship. All of it was excellent. Seizing the opportunity for self-improvement in my professional career is the underlying take-away when we sum up. I know I am overall better off as a result of this internship and it has taught me to pursue excellence at the next level. It has been a challenging but very rewarding 12 weeks I've spent with RISEWAY.
I was seeking a penetration testing internship and I received exactly that. My advice to future interns would be to complete the application form thoroughly and indicate your preferences to the best of your ability, in order to be placed in your desired internship. There is no excuse not to embark on a journey such as this. The team (your remote internship host organization) will work with you and they want to see you succeed as much as you do. You do need to take responsibility for maintaining communication on your side. One thing I loved about the remote internship was the flexibility; they will work with your schedule. During the internship, I met different types of people from different backgrounds and learned a lot of hands-on material. I enjoyed my internship and I will definitely recommend it to others.
